Q:    How long does it take to design a website?
A:    The duration depends on the size of the website project. Since our websites are basic and simple yet professional, it can take as little as 2 - 4 weeks for the project to be completed.

Q:    Where do I get content for my website?
A:    You choose what information you want on your website. This what you want your existing and prospective clients to know about you. (I.e. Background about your company, mission/vision, products & services, current specials and etc).

Q:    How will people find my website?
A:    People can find your website either by either typing in your website address in an internet browser or by searching on search engines such as Google. We also assist you to identify and make use of online directories as they can also increase your exposure online.

Q:    What is an online form?
A:    This is a standard form that allows clients to communicate with you directly from your websites and is commonly used for client enquiries. It contains standard information that is required from any client as well as the clients contact details. After a client fills in this form on your website, the details filled in will be sent to your email address.

Q:    How do I respond to queries submitted via online forms?
A:    These queries are sent directly to your email inbox after the user submits them online. Forms require that some contact details be submitted as well thus allowing you to respond back. You can then respond to the client’s enquiry either telephonically or by email thereafter.

Q:    What is website hosting?
A:    For your website to be viewed on the internet it needs to be stored somewhere first. It needs to be stored on a computer connected to the internet (24/7) to allow visitors to view from anywhere at anytime. This is referred to as website hosting. This storage space is usually rented out at a monthly fee.

Q:    How much will website hosting cost?
A:    Website hosting is already included as part of our package, so you don’t have to pay an extra fee separately. We will setup, upload your website as well as take care of regular maintenance of this website hosting space.

Q:    What is webmail?
A:    Webmail is an online email client that allows you to have access to your emails from any computer that has internet access. You can walk into an internet café and retrieve or send mails without a hassle. This is a free service available on all our website packages.

Q:    Can I use my email application to access my mail? (E.g. outlook)
A:    Yes, you can. We will send step by step setup instructions to you that are very easy to follow at your request.

Q:    What is a domain name?
A:    Just as your business has a telephone number that clients dial to contact you, your website is also assigned a website address for clients to find you on the internet. This is a unique address that clients can type into their web browser (Internet Explorer, Firefox, etc) to view your website. An example of a website address is www.webtirus.co.za

Q:    Why do I need a domain name?
A:    A domain name also referred to as a website address is your unique identity on the internet. Customer looking for your website can simply type in your domain name in their browser to view your website. Registering this domain name means that you will be the sole owner allowed to use that address and you can control what information is being stored on the website. 

Q:    What is a domain name extension?
A:    A domain name extension is the last part of a domain name. It is the part that follows the "name" part of your domain. For example, in the domain name www.webtirus.co.za the domain extension is .co.za

Q:    Should I go for local or .com?
A:    The choice is really down to your preference - .com is often seen as "International" whereas .co.za is seen as "SA only" but it depends on the target market. If you mainly deal with companies in South Africa and wanted to register just one domain extension then a .co.za domain may be the best choice. The .co.za instantly identifies you as a South African company. Some companies preffer to register on both domain name extensions.

Q:    Can I use my existing domain name?
A:    Yes you can, as long as it is still valid.

Q:    What characters can I use when choosing a domain name?
A:    You can use the characters a-z and 0-9 (in any combination). You can also use hyphens (-), although your domain name cannot start or end with a hyphen. You cannot use any special characters like the "and" symbol (&) or exclamation mark (!)..

Q:    Can I use upper or lower case characters in my domain name?
A:    All domain names are lower case. But when you type in upper or lowercase in the internet browser, this will still point to one website address.

Q:    Can I include spaces in the domain name?
A:    Domain names may not contain spaces or start or end with a hyphen.
